The minor characters affect the major characters because the minor characters can cause a problem, or a solution. WIth out the minor characters there would be a lot missing in a story. Even thought minor characters are "minor" they can play little parts that cause a major problem or solution.
One decision I would disagree with is Willem and Tine got married after two months of knowing each other. I think they should have waited a longer, an get to know each other first. I don't think you could really know a person in two months. I would get to know the person first then consider marriage.
This story changes my opinion because now I am more appreciative of my things. They all are nice to each other because thy never knew when they would see each other again. I hope I can follow this example.
